While studying nursing in the Boston area, I had an instructor who was learning about Reiki.  We had a newborn in the nursery going through some sort of drug withdrawal.  He was screaming, with his body trembling, obviously in a great deal of pain.  When she touched him, he stopped screaming and looked peaceful.  When she removed her hand from him, he would scream and tremble again.  Something shifted inside of me witnessing this event and I wanted to learn more about Reiki.

I began my study of Reiki in October of 1996 when I had my level one attunements by Libby Barnett and Maggie Chambers of the Reiki Healing Connection located in Wilton, New Hampshire.  I chose them to be my masters because of the connection I felt with them immediately.  “Hands on, Reiki on” became my new motto and I was offering Reiki to people, plants and animals, finding great joy in the healing I witnessed.

In March of 1997, I received my level two attunement the day before I started my first nursing job on a child psychiatric unit.  Using Reiki at the second level was incredible for me.  Each experience seemed more awesome than the next.  I knew then that I would go on to become a Master so that I could teach and support students on their journeys with Reiki.  In April of 1998, I had my Master level attunement and began the process of learning how to teach others about Reiki.  I had students immediately ready to learn what I had to teach them.    

In August of 1999, I moved from Massachusetts to Southern California.  I quickly found more students and my practice continues to grow.  I have students in process at all levels of Reiki, on both the East and West Coasts.  I delight in the experiences of my students as I watch them grow in the Reiki.  In addition to teaching Reiki, I continue to offer Reiki healing sessions to clients for a variety of problems, ranging from hospice to fertility issues, to journeying with cancer or discerning answers to issues in their lives.
