What Happens in a Reiki Session?
You can sit in a chair or lie on a massage table, whichever you prefer. You stay fully dressed - the only thing you'll take off is your shoes. There will be blankets and pillows to make you as comfortable as possible. You can always ask to change position or move pillows or whatever you want.
We can put our hands above you or directly on you, whatever you are most comfortable with. You might feel a warm sensation, even a flowing sensation. You might feel nothing. But overall, you will most likely feel a deep sense of relaxation, and you might even fall asleep for a short time. Many people, and animals especially, experience a "Reiki nap."
During the session, we will probably ask you questions about any areas of concern you might have, such as any lingering pain, injuries, or digestive issues. You can ask about anything, and we will do our best to discern the answer that serves your greatest and highest good.
After the session is over, you should drink more water than usual to keep yourself extra hydrated. You will most likely feel refreshed, balanced, and relaxed, like you just woke up from a great nap.
