My Journey, So Far
by Chris, Reiki Master
It’s hard to believe that JoAnn and I met in 1999, when our children started Kindergarten together. I knew from the start that she was someone I wanted to get to know better. One day, in passing, she mentioned her Reiki work, and I heard her passion, listened politely, and went about my business. I didn't know it, but a seed was planted.
I was attuned in
October, 2004 for Reiki I, and felt an immediate shift.
Besides my “blowtorch” hands, the biggest change I noticed was that I was now
followed, almost stalked, by animals of all sorts.
I started seeing the same one-legged finch near the local supermarket.
Undisturbed sleep became a thing of the past, as every night my cats
would find new ways to intertwine themselves with me. My neighbor’s 75-pound, three-legged shepherd wanted to be my
lap dog.
I quickly realized that this was my calling – to work with animals, to
help and heal that which they could not communicate.
I
had my Reiki II attunement in May, 2005, and my Master attunement on April 15,
2008. In
that time, I have continued to read, learn, practice, and experience spiritual
growth that in the past I never thought I needed or could achieve.
Animals and their people continue to seek me out, and I continue to offer
them whatever I can.
Why else are we here, if not to make each other laugh, share love, and
help the voiceless?

Lots of people talk to animals.... Not very many listen, though.... That's the problem.
